It’s our pleasure as proud parents to introduce our beautiful daughter:
Sophie Joan King to the world. We had a few names picked out for both sex’s and Sophie, was certainly in the top three, we just needed to be sure it fit with her characteristics. It is absolutely perfect for her. Her middle name is Joan in memory of Ingrid’s late grandmother who she really admired.
Today has been a great day for both girls, I felt terrible leaving them last night after they’d both had a tough day at the office - doesn’t sound very manly, but I got quite emotional driving home late last night, I fully excepted another rough night for the two of them, the good news is - I was wrong. They both looked refreshed and full of life when I arrived this morning!
Like I said earlier too, the staff at Birthcare are absolutely superb and we can’t thank them enough.
Sophie seems to be latching on for a feed a lot better today which makes the world of difference – She sleeps a lot better (obviously) on a full stomach which means Ingrid can snatch some valuable rest time.
I took her away from the room a couple of times today and went for walks around the ward and chilled out at watched tele together – everyone comments on how cute she is which I’m sure they’d say about any baby, but it does make you feel chuffed hearing from others all the same.
Home tomorrow for the two girls, and then we get to start life together as a family. I can’t wait.

Hi there Brad, Just love the name, and your'e right it does seem to suit her doesn't it.
This is such a awesome idea of yours, it just saves all the phone calls and repeated conversations, and every one can follow wee Sophie's progress. In the photo's of her when she is awake, she looks so allert and almost as if she is taking every thing in, not at all like a brand new baby. She is so gorgeous. Sounds like Ingrid is taking to motherhood like a duck to water, good for her.
Love and best wishes from the Corbetts. I spose I am Great Auntie Di ?????? but I will settle for just Auntie Di.
What a beautiful name for such a beautiful wee girl. It' so nice to know that you three are all doing well.
Don't be affraid to turn people away from your house if you get loads of visitors over the next few days, as your babies need plenty of rest. If you get tired, Aunty Katie is the best helper EVER.

Congratulations guys!! Sophie is just gorgeous and definately suits her lovely name. So glad to hear things are going well for you all and I'm so excited that Ingrid and I both had girls and born only one month apart and even both on the 4th of the month - Grace was born 4/4/06 and Sophie 4/5/06! so they can grow up being buddies. Brad please give Ingrid a big kiss and hug from me and I can't wait to catch up with her once she is home (and has a spare few minutes....perhaps!), great news guys, lots of love to the 3 of you
Mel, Brendan and Grace xxoo
